Merlin Brooke-Little works primarily from ephemera and the unwanted. Wallpaper catalogues, old dictionaries, shopping lists, bits of string, National Geographics of yesteryear, ticket etc etc. He turns these into elegaic collage. Old tools have become a recent resource, finding character, history and another life within these discards. Brining a simile through wordplay, pun and form is an added bonus – encouraging a new view and giving another future to the past is an important motivation for him.
