We had a lovely couple of days this weekend. Rain and wind on Saturday but glorious Sunshine on Sunday. Lots of visitors. Lots of cake eaten. Favourite quote in our visitor book
Sue Abbiss Stubbs is brilliant!
We’ll be open next weekend for the Bank Holiday too. So three more days of lovely chat about Art. Here are some highlights…
We had our own Election this year at Oxford ArtWeeks. Instead of a visitor book everyone posted their vote for the Artist of choice in a specially made ballot box. The winner with a majority of 1! is Merlin Brooke-Little (pictured in front of his politically allegorical triptych in gold leaf and tempera). Some commentators have said that the win is due to Merlin’s quality of work but others, his Campaign Message. “I will dissect your joy and aspirations, fears and anxieties and cut and paste them into a collage of hope…”
Genny Early and Sue Abbiss-Stubbs in conversation between Genny’s cushions and Rodas’s Oak Totem Cubes.
Fredrica Craig discussing her Art with old friends and new acquaintances. Visitors for Oxford ArtWeeks seem to come not just from all over the County but from all over the world and we’re glad to see them!
Rodas never stops carving his Oak. Part of a series of Posts for an audio tour. No time for cake then…?
Another moment by captured by Edmund Blok last weekend during the lovely weather in Lower Heyford. Merlin Brooke-Little taking a stroll after painting in Tempera. So many families. So much fun.
